Waiver

If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

Fall - 05/01/2026 - 07/24/2026

WAIVER CRITERIA:

1. Any currently active, employee sponsored plan that is ACA compliant (See Healthcare.gov).
2. Any currently active, personal plan that is ACA compliant i.e. approved and available through Healthcare.gov.
3. Is underwritten by an insurance carrier that meets the requirement of 22 CFR 62.14(d)(1) or offered or underwritten by a federally qualified HMO or competitive Medical Plan as determined by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
4. Coverage must be active from date of coverage start for coverage periods.

NOTE: The following plan(s) will NOT be acceptable for waiver approval:

• Health Care Sharing plans
• Financial Assistance plans
• Reimbursement plans that require you to pay for treatment yourself and then apply for reimbursement are not accepted.
